A wine-filter [used as a cover] does not prevent [the wine from becoming] forbidden by being uncovered. But Rabbi Nehemiah permits it.
הַמְשַׁמֶּרֶת שֶׁל יַיִן, אֲסוּרָה מִשּׁוּם גִּלּוּי. רַבִּי נְחֶמְיָה מַתִּיר:

משמרת של יין. אע״פ שהכלי התחתון מכוסה במשמרת, יש בו משום גלוי, שהארס עובר דרך המשמרת והולך לכלי התחתון:
רבי נחמיה מתיר. לפי שהארס צף ואינו עובר. ואין הלכה כרבי נחמיה:
משמרת של יין – even though the lower uensil is covered with a strainer, there is in it because of uncovering, for the poison passes along the path of the strainer and goes into the lower utensil.
רבי נחמיה מתיר – because the poison floats and does not pass, but the Halakha is not according to Rabbi Nehemiah.
