נגעים פרק י"ב משנה ג׳
And how many stones must there be in it [for it to be susceptible to negaim]? Rabbi Ishmael says: four. Rabbi Akiva says: eight. For Rabbi Ishmael used to say: a nega is not a cause of uncleanness unless it appeared in the size of two split beans on two stones or on one stone. Rabbi Akiva say: unless it appears in the size of two split beans on two stones, and not on one stone. Rabbi Eliezer son of Rabbi Shimon says: unless it appears in the size of two split beans, on two stones, on two walls in a corner, Its length being that of two split beans and its breadth that of one split bean.
וְכַמָּה אֲבָנִים יְהוּ בוֹ. רַבִּי יִשְׁמָעֵאל אוֹמֵר, אַרְבַּע. רַבִּי עֲקִיבָא אוֹמֵר, שְׁמֹנֶה. שֶׁהָיָה רַבִּי יִשְׁמָעֵאל אוֹמֵר, עַד שֶׁיֵּרָאֶה כִשְׁנֵי גְרִיסִין עַל שְׁתֵּי אֲבָנִים אוֹ עַל אֶבֶן אֶחָת. רַבִּי עֲקִיבָא אוֹמֵר, עַד שֶׁיֵּרָאֶה כִשְׁנֵי גְרִיסִין עַל שְׁתֵּי אֲבָנִים, לֹא עַל אֶבֶן אֶחָת. רַבִּי אֶלְעָזָר בְּרַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן אוֹמֵר, עַד שֶׁיֵּרָאֶה כִשְׁנֵי גְרִיסִין עַל שְׁתֵּי אֲבָנִים בִּשְׁנֵי כְתָלִים בַּזָּוִית, אָרְכּוֹ כִּשְׁנֵי גְרִיסִין וְרָחְבּוֹ כַּגְּרִיס:

עד שיראה כשני גריסין. דכתיב [שם] וראה את הנגע והנה הנגע, מלמד שאין נגעי בתים מיטמאין, עד שיראו כשני גריסין:
או על אבן אחת. והיינו טעמא דאמר רבי ישמעאל ארבע אבנים לארבעה כותלי הבית, לכל כותל אבן אחת. ולרבי עקיבא דאמר עד שיראו כשני גריסים על שתי אבנים לא על אבן אחת, אין פחות משמונה אבנים, לכל כותל שתי אבנים:
רבי אלעזר בר׳ שמעון אומר כו׳ טעמא דר׳ אלעזר בר׳ שמעון [בסנהדרין דף ע״א] דכתיב קיר וכתיב קירות, איזהו קיר שהוא כקירות, הוי אומר זה קרן זוית, ובכל קיר בעינן שיעור נגע, דהיינו כגריס הקלקי מרובע בכל אחד ואחד. והלכה כר׳ עקיבא:
עד שיראה כשני גריסים – as it is written (Leviticus 14:37): "וראה את-הנגע והנה הנגע בקירת הבית"/ “If, when he examines the plague, the plague in the walls of the house,” it teaches that the it is not the plagues of plagues of the house do not make it susceptible to uncleanness, until there will appear like [the size of] two split [Cilician] beans.

רבי אליעזר בר' שמעון אומר כו' – the reason of Rabbi Eliezer the son of Rabbi Shimon [Tractate Sanhedrin 71a] as it is written (Leviticus 14:37): "קיר" (i.e., "ומראיהן שפל מן-הקיר"/that appear to go deep in the wall) and it is written (Leviticus 14:37): "קירות" (i.e., "והנה הנגע בקירת הבית" /the plague in the walls of the house is found), What is a wall that is like multiple walls?
